Charlene A. Mccarthy

Charlene "Char" McCarthy (nee Middendorf), age 76, of West Chester, Ohio passed away peacefully Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Hospice of Hamilton.  She was born Monday, September 22, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Arthur and Erma (nee Bierlein) Middendorf.

As a young lady, Char discovered her talents with the banking industry.  Hardwork and dedication paid off as she was one of the first female Vice-Presidents of the bank.  She met the love of her life and they were married on January 4, 1986.  Together, Char and James enjoyed traveling and cruising to many different places.  When she was diagnosed with cancer and knew she would be undergoing chemotherapy, Char discovered a new love of arts and crafts.

Char was preceded in death by: her parents, Arthur and Erma Middendorf; and a brother, Art Middendorf and Marilyn Linz.

Char is survived by: her loving husband of 32 years, James G. McCarthy; step-children, Bill (Juan) Menz, Michael D. McCarthy, David (Anna) McCarthy and Paul (Cathy) McCarthy; grandchildren, Tina Cupp, Michelle Barker, Willie Menz, Chris Menz, Chris McCarthy, Jeff McCarthy, Carrie McCarthy, Maria Telles, Jon McCarthy, Kevin McCarthy, Lisa Adams and Katie Combs; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Allen (Linda) Middendorf; nephew, Greg Middendorf; nieces, Amy Stewart and Michelle Scott; and many other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 26, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, 5720 Hamilton Mason Road, Hamilton, Ohio 45011.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Friday at the Church.
