Joseph Elio Casagrande

Joseph Elio Casagrande, age 94, of Mason, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016.  He was born Friday, February 17, 1922 in Dayton, Ohio to Nazzareno and Maria (nee Sarbatti) Casagrande.

Joseph married the love of his life, Susie Meece, on Thursday, April 15, 1948.  Following his retirement from GE, Joseph and Susie enjoyed traveling America visiting all 50 states.  He was even able to visit Italy twice.  A well manicured lawn was always important to Joseph.  He would often start a garden every summer just to end up using weed killer on it by July when he was tired taking care of it.  But most of all, Joseph was a family man taking great pride in his children and grandchildren.

Joseph was preceded in death by: his parents, Nazzareno and Maria Casagrande; and siblings, Orlando Casagrande, Eda Carmosino and Mary Sabbadini.

Joseph is survived by: his loving wife of 68 years, Susie E. (nee Meece) Casagrande; children, Linda Langer, Joseph E. (Patrizia) Casagrande, II and Marcia (David) Shaver; grandchidren, Philip Langer, Christopher Langer, Michael Shaver and Emily Shaver; and other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040.  A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 10209 Plainfield Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45241.  If you would like to join the family in the procession from Mueller Funeral Home to Rest Haven Memorial Park, please meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM Wednesday.
