Amy Pollock passed away peacefully at her home on December 22, 2025, at the age of 60, after a courageous and determined battle with cancer. She was surrounded by love, which defined her life as much as her strength and grace.
Amy was deeply loved by her husband, Steven Braun; her mother, Barbara Pollock; and her father, Joe Pollock, who preceded her in death. She is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Jennifer Pollock and Maryann Bhat (Pollock), and her brother-in-law, Prashanth Bhat as well as her many nieces and nephews. Amy’s close bonds with her family were central to her life.
Born on January 27, 1965, to Joseph and Barbara Pollock (Hines), Amy grew up in Trenton, Ohio. She attended the University of Cincinnati and earned a degree in Chemical Engineering— and began a career defined by purpose and impact. Amy started her professional journey at Eli Lilly and later spent 30 plus years at Procter & Gamble She was respected for both her intellect and her leadership.
Amy was a kind, compassionate, and principled person who cared deeply about fairness and protecting those who did not always have a voice or equal opportunities. She gave her time and energy to causes she believed in, including her work with Best Buddies, serving at election polls, and the women in engineering group at P&G. She firmly believed in the value of hard work, perseverance, and lifting others as you go.
One of Amy’s sources of pride was her contribution to the development of Humulin (human insulin). She dedicated her entire career to pharmaceuticals because she truly believed in their power to improve and save lives—and she was proud to know her work made a real difference in the world.
Friendship was another cornerstone of Amy’s life. Her lifelong friendship with Rachelle and long-term friendship with Lori meant the world to her and provided strength, comfort, and joy, especially in her later years.
Amy found peace and happiness in nature. She loved being outdoors—biking, walking, gardening, and cross-country skiing during her years in upstate New York. She took great joy in the birds and wildlife around her home, finding beauty and calm in the natural world.
Amy will be remembered for her, kindness, integrity, and unwavering commitment to making the world a better place. She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and quiet strength.
