Barbara E. Helsinger (nee Niederman)
of West Chester, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at the age of 76. She was born on June 10,1945 in Hamilton, Ohio to Paul and Verna (nee Beyer) Niederman.
At the young age of 14, Barbara met the love of her life, Daniel E. Helsinger, the boy next door. Four years later the two were married on April 25, 1964 at St. Susanna Catholic Church in Mason, Ohio. They will be married 58 years this April. As a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Barbara loved nothing more than spending time and caring for her family. During her early years, she spent her time raising her three children until they were in school. She decided to return to the work force where she was employed by International Paper Company, Mason, Ohio as a Customer Service Representative for 18 years. She loved working at International Paper Company taking care of her customers. She decided at age 55 to retire to take care of her grandchildren, Ashley and Evan. She helped take care of Ashley and Evan for five years while Coleen worked. Besides caring for her grandchildren, she had an eye for architecture and design and enjoyed drawing the plans for the family home along with keeping the interior up to date. When her health began to decline, her artistic skills turned towards scrapbooking, puzzles, writing, listening to music (Daniel O’Donnell), coloring, making bows, flower arrangements and shopping online. Barbara's family and friends will smile everytime they see an Amazon or FedEx truck remembering her love of online shopping.
