Boyd Waddell, a dedicated husband father and grandfather and proud veteran, passed away in the comfort of his home in Leesburg, Florida on February 10, 2026. Born on August 26, 1938 in Somerset, Kentucky, Boyd lived a life characterized by hard work, and commitment.

For many years, Boyd devoted his professional life to Central Steel & Wire, where his strong work ethic made him a respected member of his team as a crane operator. He is fondly remembered for his quiet demeanor and dry sense of humor, which brought a unique charm to his interactions with those around him.

A proud Marine, Boyd served in the United States Marine Corps, an experience that reinforced his deep sense of patriotism and pride. He found joy in collecting military-related items, fixing and collecting clocks, gardening, and visiting Veteran Memorials. These hobbies were a testament to both his personal interests and his enduring respect for service and sacrifice.

Boyd leaves behind his beloved wife, Edith (nee Hoepker) Waddell, and three devoted children: Karen (Tommy) Thackerson, Steve Waddell, and Jeff (Terri) Waddell. He is also survived by step-children Warner Kroth and Wayne Kroth, along with grandchildren Jeremy (Terra) Goldizen, Cory (Stephany) Goldizen, Erin Waddell, Ryleigh Kroth, Ryder Kroth, and Kaleb Kroth. In later years, Boyd welcomed the joy of great-grandchildren C.C. (John) Sterneberg, Owen Goldizen, Olivia Reed, and Millie Goldizen; a great-great-grandchild, Raelynn Sterneberg, with another bundle of joy arriving soon.

He is also cherished by siblings Terry Waddle, Wanda Trammell, and Jimmy Waddell, as well as many loving family members and friends who will miss his gentle spirit and genuine smile.

Boyd was preceded in death by his parents, Milford and Matrie (nee Wesley) Waddle, and several siblings, including Carroll Waddell, Clarence Waddell, Clyde Waddell, Philip Waddle, and Judy Trammell.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Boyd's life during visitation on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Mueller Funeral Home, located at 6791 Tylersville Rd, Mason, OH 45040.
