Bryan J. Gillis, born on August 9, 1970, in South Korea. Bryan lived a life marked by genuine care, selflessness, and an unwavering dedication to those he loved. He always said, "Be the best version of yourself!". Bryan was a devoted consultant in the financial service industry, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on May 29, 2026, in Mason, Ohio.
Throughout his career, Bryan distinguished himself not only by his expertise but by the compassion and attentiveness he showed to the clients he served. Yet, above all else, his family was his foremost priority. He took immense pride in ensuring that his two sons, Andrew and Matthew, were well cared for and supported, embodying the role of a loving father with deep commitment.
Bryan’s personality was defined by a spirit of kindness and the habit of putting others before himself. His gentle nature extended beyond his close family circle to touch the lives of his friends and colleagues. He was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life—whether it was a quiet day on the golf course or a hiking trip where he would pause to appreciate the surrounding beauty. These moments reflected his outlook on life: to savor and cherish the present, and to embrace the natural world with mindfulness.
He is survived by a loving family that will forever carry his memory in their hearts. His sons, Andrew Gillis and Matthew Gillis, remain a testament to the deep love and guidance he provided. Bryan’s parents, Lawrence Gillis and Letha (nee Niehaus) Gillis, his siblings—Eddie (Melinda) Gillis, Kevin (Julia) Gillis, Nancy Gillis, and Erin (Tony) Mowrer—and his significant other, Marla M. Weiss, share in the profound sorrow of his passing. His family, including nieces, Allison (Tim) Hinnenkamp, Rebecca Gillis, Samantha Gillis, along with nephews Evan Gillis, Max Mowrer, Matthew Mowrer, and great-niece and nephew Lucas Hinnenkamp and Peyton Hinnenkamp, stand together in mourning a cherished loved one.
Bryan’s life was one of dedication—not only to his profession but to the people he cared about most. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, humility, and love that will inspire all who knew him. Though his departure was sudden, the impact of his life resonates deeply, reminding us to embrace our loved ones and find beauty in the everyday moments he so treasured.
In remembering Bryan J. Gillis, we celebrate a man whose heart was as vast as his spirit was gentle, whose care for others knew no bounds, and whose memory will forever be a light guiding those he loved. His boys, his family, and all who had the honor to know him will hold him dearly in their hearts, always.
