Catherine Lo Piccolo

Catherine (Cathy) Lo Piccolo, devoted sister and beloved "Auntie", born November 14, 1949, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025. Daughter of the late Frank Lo Piccolo and Giovanna Peraino, and loving brother to Joseph Lo Piccolo (Patricia). Cathy lived with a deep appreciation for life, family, and those around her. 

Cathy loved learning about her ancestry, transforming her rock garden, listening to music, sitting at the beach, water aerobics with friends, a good game of Racko, traveling to Europe, a delicious Italian recipe, a Biscoff cookie, and most of all, her family. She had a very special and unique bond with her brother, Joe. The two were inseparable. And once he married Pat and they had their 4 children (Lisa, Joseph "Joey", Jennifer "Jen", Christina "Missy"), her closeness and connection to her family only widened and deepened. She was a woman of faith and prayer and was deeply committed to her Catholic church and community, serving within her parish and volunteering weekly at her local food pantry. 

Cathy also poured herself into her work in education. Moving quickly from a classroom teacher to administration as an Assistant Principal, Cathy was committed to investing in the lives of both the children in her care and the staff under her wing. She especially had a heart for children with exceptional needs and spent much of her career advocating for them and assuring they felt seen, heard, and valued under her leadership. She was convinced each child held inherent worth and value and spent her career in education making sure they felt it. 

Cathy was an ever-present, loving, affectionate, encourager, celebrater and doting "Auntie" to many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Although never married or having children of her own, we were all "hers": Lisa McCoon (Patrick "Pat") - Austin, Brayden, Carson, Camden; Joseph (Julie) - Samuel "Sam" and Benjamin "Ben", Jennifer Powers (Chad) - Ellery and Judah; Christina Cullis (Daniel "Dan") - Maverick, Remy, and Cali. 

Cathy loved all her extended family, cousins, colleagues, and her dear friends both in and out of state. Her precious aunts, uncles, cousins and friends meant the world to her and she talked about them often. They were also "hers". 

She will be remembered as someone who lived fully and gave extravagantly. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, compassion, and miles and miles of LOVE. Cathy's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her. 

A visitation for Cathy will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Mueller Funeral Home at 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH, 45040. A mass of Catholic burial will occur Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm, with a visitation preceding from 10:30-11:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 9080 Cincinnati Dayton Road, West Chester, OH, 45069. A burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery following the mass at 11000 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH, 45249.
