Cheryl Lynn Maddux

 Cheryl dedicated most of her career to teaching kindergarten at Reading schools, where her warmth and enthusiasm fostered a love of learning in countless young minds. She earned her Bachelor's degree in education from Bowling Green State University and furthered her professional development with a Master's degree from Xavier University. Known for her bubbly personality and generosity, Cheryl had a unique ability to connect with others and bring joy to any gathering. Her laughter was infectious, and many found comfort in her giving nature.

Beyond her professional achievements, Cheryl was devoted to her family. Her proudest accomplishment was raising her children, Phillip and Melissa Maddux, whom she supported in all their endeavors. She was a passionate advocate for her children's interests, often attending Bengals games, creating priceless memories along the way.

Cheryl embraced life with an adventurous spirit, enjoying traveling and making the most of her timeshare in the Cayman Islands. She held deep connections with many, including lifelong friends Barb and Dave Hutzel, Teresa and John Westerman, and Shirley Nash. Though she was an only child, she maintained close bonds with her cousins and community, especially her many friends at Reading School.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her son, Paul, and her parents, William and Malta (nee Akers) Clay, who inspired her love for education and community service. She leaves behind her two children, Phillip and Melissa Maddux, and a circle of loving family and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she impacted through her teaching, her unwavering support for her family, and her ability to spread joy wherever she went. Cheryl Lynn Maddux will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Burial of Ashes will take place on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Rose Hill Cemetery in Mason, OH. Immediately following, a Celebration of Life will be held at The Woods on Wilken Clubhouse, 9206 Elizabeth Ln, Mason, OH 45040.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations to be directed to Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040, to offset her funeral expenses.
