Warm, funny, and genuine, David will be remembered for his kind laugh, his great sense of humor, his ability to identify with and befriend people in all walks of life, and his respect for everyone. After graduating as a communications/theater major from The College of Wooster, he moved to New York City to manage a theater. His life of service began with six years in the United States Navy, where he was deployed in the Middle East. He loved to referee youth soccer and teach young referees with the West Chester Soccer League. He enjoyed singing with the Cathedral Choir and men’s singing group of Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church. David spent many hours helping others – serving as an assistant coach to his son’s soccer team, chaperoning high school band trips, traveling on mission trips to Mexico and Belize, and sponsoring two young men with their college educations. After retiring from Mercy Health Partners as a computer technician, he devoted time to tutoring children in reading and math at Rothenberg Academy. He also took great pleasure in traveling and trying new dishes from recipes he acquired in cooking classes. Above all, he loved spending time with friends and family.
