Delaine (nee Chamberlain) Kelhoffer, born on March 24, 1964, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, at Atrium Medical Center in Middletown. She lived a life full of warmth, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to her family and friends.
Delaine was a proud graduate of Lebanon High School and the Warren County Career Center in 1982. She dedicated 23 years of her career to serving the community at Kroger, where she became known not only for her work ethic but also for her friendly demeanor and infectious smile.
As a devoted mother, Delaine’s greatest accomplishments included her children, whom she cherished deeply. She was always there for her son, Joshua (Lauren) Kelhoffer, and her daughter, Sarah (Melody) Smith, making both her children and their spouses feel welcome and loved. Delaine’s nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family; she embraced her roles within the larger community and made a lasting impression on those around her.
Known for her love of dogs, Delaine found joy in her beloved dog Luna, who was a constant companion. She enjoyed traveling and discovering new places, which enriched her life and provided many memories to share. A passionate reader, Delaine had a particular fondness for mystery novels and dedicated time to researching genealogy, connecting with her roots and discovering her family history.
Delaine is survived by her loving mother-in-law, Barbara Kelhoffer; her brothers, Jerry (Martha) Chamberlain and Mark (Jeanette) Chamberlain; her sister, Jill Clary; her sister in laws Linda (Doug) Lange and Melissa (Mark) Morris, her best friend and travel buddy, Judy Bedwell; along with many cherished nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
Delaine was preceded in death by her husband, Steven W. Kelhoffer; her father, Manville Chamberlain; her mother, Doris Delaine (nee Montgomery) Chamberlain; and her brother, Brad Chamberlain.
Visitation will be held on November 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Mueller Hicks Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 6780 Roosevelt Ave, Middletown, OH 45005. A Funeral Service will follow on November 11, 2025, beginning at 12:00 PM, also at Mueller Hicks Funeral Home & Crematory.
Delaine Kelhoffer will be remembered for her warm personality, her generosity, and her ability to make everyone feel valued. Her legacy lives on through her family and friends, who will carry forward the love she so freely gave.
