Dorothy Marie Koman, a beloved member of the Cincinnati community, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, in West Chester, Ohio. Born in Cincinnati on May 10, 1936, Dorothy lived a full and vibrant life marked by her unwavering faith, determination, and deep love for her family and friends.

Dorothy was known widely not only for her charming personality but also for her remarkable achievements. Among her accomplishments was her work as a model for a window company, a role that brought her image to the city of Cincinnati and was a source of great personal pride. As a certified personal property appraiser, she demonstrated a sharp intellect and dedication to her profession. She also relished her unique connection to the world of antiques, famously knowing people from the Antique Roadshow, which highlighted her passion for collecting and appreciating the treasures of the past.

Her personality was a vibrant tapestry of honesty, kindness, and humor. Dorothy was someone who would do anything for anyone, embodying a spirit of generosity and devotion that touched all who knew her. A devoted Catholic, her faith remained a cornerstone throughout her life. She possessed a lively and social nature, enjoying the challenges life presented, and found joy in going out to parties and spending quality time with friends—her number one hobby. She was forever remembered for her love of convertible cars, a symbol of her free-spirited and adventurous soul. Her passion for Dachshunds brought her immense pleasure and companionship.

Dorothy’s loving family was a wellspring of support and joy to her. She was the cherished mother of Jay Koman and Julie (Dan) Brankamp. She found immense happiness in her grandchildren, David (Jess) Brankamp and Melissa (Jason) Pawlak, and in her great-grandchildren Caleb, Finn, Morgan, Emma, and Aleah. Her family circle was further extended as a dear aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom hold fond memories of her spirited presence.

She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Robert "Bob" Koman, her sister- Rita (Bob) Pharo, and her honorary brother Helmut Schneider. Their memories live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

A visitation to honor Dorothy’s life will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church, located at 9080 Cincinnati Dayton Road, West Chester, Ohio 45069, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on May 1, 2026. This will be followed by a funeral service at St. John's at 11:00 AM. On May 2, 2026, a graveside service will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, 11200 Princeton Pike, Cincinnati, Ohio 45246, beginning at 10:30 AM.

Dorothy Marie Koman’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and lasting impact. She will be remembered with great respect and affection by all who had the privilege to know her. Her life was a beautiful journey, enriched by her faith, her passions, and the enduring relationships she nurtured throughout her 89 years.
