Elsa Griswold

May 10, 1943 — January 26, 2026

Elsa Griswold, a loving mother and devoted grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, at the age of 82.

Elsa had a deep commitment to helping others and a compassionate nature that was woven into everything she did. She drove a bus for handicapped children for many years, providing not only transportation but kindness and understanding. Her deep commitment to helping others and her compassionate nature extended into her work in the Pathmark Deli department, where she spent 15 years, serving with a warm smile that made everyone feel welcome and valued.

Outside of her professional life, Elsa was a vibrant individual with a zest for adventure. She enjoyed travelling and made countless memories exploring new places. Additionally, she loved being a member of the Senior Coalition of West Chester, Ohio and playing Chair Volleyball every week until about two months ago.

Elsa is survived by her two beloved daughters, Kelly Anne Griswold and Stacy (Paul) Hillman; three grandchildren, Walter Traina, Anna Hillman and Merritt Hillman; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Elsa is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Walter Griswold; her parents, Sarah and Thomas; brother, Edward; and her brother-in-law, John Griswold.

Thank you to all the caregivers and friends who watched out for our mother over the years.
