Ernest Jesse Mendoza, Jr

Ernest Jesse Mendoza, Jr. (49) of West Chester, passed away on August 23, 2025, with his family by his side. Ernest was born on February 17, 1976, in Los Angeles, California, to Ernest Jesse Sr. and Juanita (née Pacheco) Winters. 

He was lovingly raised by his mom and dad, John Winters, whose care and guidance deeply shaped his life. Ernest was a native of California but built his life in Ohio. 

He was a proud veteran who served in the U.S. Navy before dedicating nearly 30 years to a successful career in the mortgage industry. He found deep fulfillment in helping people achieve the goal of owning their home. 

Ernest was a generous soul who found joy in games, especially when surrounded by loved ones. He was a fierce competitor—whether dominating a game of Monopoly or outplaying opponents in Spades. He was a thrill seeker with a passion for motorcycles, firearms, wakeboarding, jujitsu, and never missed a UFC fight. But above all else, Ernest loved the Lord and cherished time spent with family and friends. 

Preceded in death by Ernest Sr. and mother Juanita. He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Sherry (nee Heath) Mendoza, three wonderful children, Ryan, Haley and Noah, Dad - John Winters, Sister - Monica (Jeff) Hathaway, and Brother - Joshua (Rachel) Winters, and five nieces and nephews, Morgan and Avery Hathaway, Olive, Sebastian and Rory Winters. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 8th from 4:30-6:30pm with a funeral service at 6:30pm all at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Rd., Mason, OH 45040.
