Frankie D. York, affectionately known as "Frank," passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, in West Chester, Ohio, at the age of 87. Born on April 27, 1938, in Fonthill, Kentucky, Frank led a life rich in faith, family, and personal passion.

Throughout his career, Frank dedicated 31 years of service to General Motors, where he earned the respect of his colleagues and made lifelong friends. In addition to his work, he made a significant impact on his community as a Sunday School Teacher, sharing his unwavering beliefs and values with those around him. Frank had a deep commitment to his faith, often expressing his devotion through big and loud prayers, embodying the spirit of caring and connection through his faith which guided him in life.

Frank loved woodworking and was an artist at heart. Even in retirement, he continued to pursue his passion for carpentry. An enthusiast of the outdoors, Frank found joy in fishing and attending car shows. He had a fondness for Elvis and gospel music. He truly enjoyed in life’s simple pleasures, including the beloved ritual of his morning coffee and watching a good nature documentary.

Frank was a proud family man and is survived by his loving wife, Dorcas (nee Mounce) York. He leaves behind three children: Daniel (Melinda) York, Lisa Marie (Tony) Strobl, and Mark (Georgia) York, as well as his cherished siblings, Lulabell Lawson and Charlotte Amburgy. His legacy continues with his grandchildren, Mitchell (Stephanie) Strobl, Summer Strobl, Reid (Olivia) Strobl, Seth Strobl, Makenzie York, Abby York, Max (Biance) Diesel, Quinn York, Sean York, Jessica Thompson, and Jeremy Thompson, and great-granddaughters, Savannah Strobl and Stevie Strobl. Each of them carries a piece of his warm, vibrant spirit.

Frank is preceded in death by his father, Ethel York; mother, Julia York; three brothers, Michael, Anthony and Melvin; and his sister, Uva Dell York.

Frank D. York's life will be celebrated at a visitation on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 PM, all taking place at Lakota Hills Baptist Church located at 6300 Tylersville Road, West Chester, Ohio. A burial service will follow at 1:45 PM at Landmark Memorial Gardens in Cincinnati, Ohio. A military tribute will take place at the Cemetery.

His impact will undoubtedly be felt by many, and he will be remembered for his generosity, love for family, and the joy he brought to the lives of everyone who had the privilege to know him.
