Harold E. Wilt, of Liberty Township, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the age of 91. He was born Tuesday, March 18, 1930 in Grafton, West Virginia.
After graduating from high school, Harold enlisted in the United States Air Force. Serving during the Korean Conflict, he was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant.
Harold began his career in the meat industry in O'Fallon, Illinois. He later moved to Cincinnati, Ohio and rose to become Vice President of Operations for the John Morrell Company. Harold finally retired in 1996.
Harold was preceded in death by: father, Curtis Wilt; mother, Viola (nee Jefferies) Freeland; step-father, Klet Freeland; first wife, Marilyn Wilt; daughter-in-law, Marcy Wilt; and siblings, Barbara McBroom and Richard (Marianne) Freeland.
Harold is survived by: wife, Norma (nee Spaulding) Simpson Wilt; children, Michael Wilt, Kathleen (Jim) Sandy, Karen (Monte) Hager, Deborah Lynn (Ken) Thomas and David (Hope) Simpson; grandchildren, Alan (Julie) Mienheartt, Ben Hager, Courtney Blank, Alex Thomas, Adam Thomas, Claire Simpson, Elaine Simpson, Grace Simpson, and Jack Simpson; great-grandchildren, Alexis Mienheartt and Zach Mienheartt; siblings, Klet (Shirley) Freeland Jr., Bonnie (Subhashish) Samaddar, and David (Kay) Freeland; brother-in-law, Jerry McBroom; and many loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, May 17, 2021 from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040. Funeral Service will immediately follow at 12:00 noon with Rev. Julie Alsip officiating.
Harold will be laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be directed to Wounded Warrior Project.
