Jacqueline Lu Rose

September 5, 1944 — November 17, 2025

Marco Island, Florida

Jacqueline Lu Rose, lovingly known as Jackie, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025. Born on September 5, 1944, in Cincinnati, Ohio Jackie grew up in a dynamic environment as a Marine Brat, experiencing life across many states and fondly recalling eight different kitchens throughout her upbringing. After graduating from high school in Providence, Rhode Island, her family returned to Cincinnati, where she began her journey into adulthood.

Jackie's career commenced as a secretary at General Electric, where she fortuitously met her best friend and husband, William W. Rose, Jr. They married on September 10, 1965, embarking on a beautiful journey for over sixty years. Throughout her life, Jackie was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, embodying a nurturing spirit that enriched the lives of those around her.

Her warmth and positivity were evident to everyone she met. She possessed an extraordinary ability to make friends with her winning smile and upbeat personality. Jackie cherished the moments spent with others, often hosting gatherings that would fuse fun and culinary creativity. She and Bill were part of an intimate circle of six couples known as the Couples Gourmet Group, where they would convene monthly, swapping homes and serving themed gourmet meals—complete with costumes that matched the themes. These were not mere gatherings; they were celebrations of friendship that blossomed into family bonds.

Jackie's interests and hobbies reflected her love for community and family. She found joy in playing bridge and mahjong with friends, cooking delectable meals, shopping, decorating, planning parties, and traveling. Each of these activities allowed her to spend precious time with her cherished family.

Even though she faced numerous health challenges throughout her life, Jackie's resilience shone brightly. She never hesitated to live her best life, consistently prioritizing the needs of others. One of her proudest accomplishments was writing a cookbook that her family and friends will treasure for generations, highlighting her passion for food and togetherness.

Jackie is survived by her beloved husband, Bill Rose; her children, Shari (Marty) Lamping and William W. "Bill" Rose, III; and her grandchildren, Mitchell (Nicole) Lamping, Matthew Lamping, and Emma Rose. She also leaves behind her siblings, Bill Minniear and Norma (Dan) Volz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Dudley and Ruth Belle (nee Chapman) Minniear, and her sister, Joan Proctor.

A visitation will be held on November 29, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Mueller Funeral Home in Mason, Ohio. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place at 12:00 PM, with a reception to follow.

Jackie Rose’s spirit will continue to resonate through the hearts and memories of all who knew her. Her legacy of love, friendship, and culinary passion will undoubtedly live on in the lives she touched.
