James Martin Hyer, 78 of West Chester, passed away on April 8, 2022. Born to John and Mary (nee Mark) Hyer on February 24, 1944, in Columbus, Ohio. He was a mechanical engineer for GE for over 25 years before retiring.
Jim enjoyed being with family. Whether he was with his boys or his grandchildren he enjoyed the company of the people he loved most.
In his free time, he watched golf on tv, NASCAR and went shooting from time to time. Woodworking and the occasional trip to the casino were some of his favorite things.
Jim was a devoted father, husband, and grandpa. He would do anything for anyone, especially his family. If his family had to describe Jim today, they would say he was so loving, caring and always holding a cup of speedway coffee.
Preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Hyer and brother, John Hyer.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Louise (nee Spiczka) Hyer, five sons, Mike (Sharon) Hyer, Steve Benoit Jr., Scott (Melanie) Hyer, Chris (Tonya) Benoit and Kenny (Lee-Ann) Hyer, twenty-two grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, good friends, Richard and Carmal Holcomb and Roxann Swank and many Friday breakfast friends and neighbors.
