JD “Big Dan” Richards November 4, 1950 – April 24, 2025

JD Richards “Big Dan”, 74, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 24, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on November 4, 1950, to James Russell and Dorothy Faye (née Clark) Richards, Big Dan lived a full and spirited life that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

A true lover of the simple pleasures, Dan found his greatest joy in Nascar Sundays, quiet mornings spent fishing, and days out on the golf course. He was a man of deep friendships, known for his big heart, hearty laugh, and unforgettable presence. Whether you called him JD, Big Dan, Dad, or Grandpa, you knew you were in the company of someone special.

Dan is survived by his children, Dawn Nicole Richards, Danny Richards, Jr., and Sean Michael Richards; his beloved grandchildren, Lacey (Donald), Cole, Seany, Danielle, Ashley, Devon, Gabby, and Wally; and his eight great-grandchildren—soon to be nine. He also leaves behind his dear sister, Janet Borchelt. His legacy of love and strength will live on through them all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy Richards, whom he now joins in eternal rest. He was also preceded in death by his 3 beloved dogs.

Big Dan’s memory will be cherished forever by the many friends and family who loved him. His life was one well-lived, and his spirit will never be forgotten.

A celebration of Big Dan's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040.
