James Vincent Seminara
(December 13, 1957 - June 18, 2025)
James “Jim” Seminara of Mason, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 with his wife and brother by his side. He was 67 years old.
Jim is survived by his wife Terri, his daughters Rachel and Audrey, his future son-in-law Nate Scott, his brother Andy (Mary Lynn), his nephews Alex (Lindsay) and Ryan, his niece Kristen, and his two great-nieces, Anneliese and Adelyn, along with his cousins and many good lifelong friends.
Jim attended Colerain High School and graduated in 1976. He went on to receive his Bachelor’s from the University of Cincinnati in Community & Regional Planning in June of 1981, followed by his Master’s in Public Administration from Northern Kentucky University in August of 1999. Jim retired in October of 2020 after 38 years of dedicated service to the State of Ohio as a Regulatory Agent for DODD.
Jim so loved life. Above all, family was most important to him. He was a loving and completely devoted husband to his wife, Terri, and they had just celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary on June 2, 2025. Jim was an amazing “Girl Dad” and he was so proud of his two beautiful, smart, talented and accomplished daughters, Rachel and Audrey, as they proved time and time again that they can do anything they put their minds to, just like their Dad.
Jim had a heart of gold. He was the kindest and most honest man one could ever meet. Jim was the “MacGyver” of the family. He could build or fix anything. Whether handcrafting a piece of furniture for his daughters, restoring a sports car, or refinishing a basement himself – he could do it all.
Jim was also his family’s “Iron Man”. He courageously faced any health issues that life threw at him, never once complaining and always holding the belief that he could overcome anything, as he did many times in the past. Jim always kept that positive attitude, even to the very end of his life when his body, but not his spirit, failed him. He fought and worked so hard, enduring 81 days in the hospital, as he was determined to be at his daughter Audrey’s wedding in June of 2026.
In addition to his family and friends, Jim loved so many things and had so many natural talents. He was a self-taught guitarist and singer, and loved gardening and growing fresh produce each year. He was an avid fisherman, bicyclist, and loved working on his various convertible sports cars. Jim loved animals, especially his “Grandpuppy”, Audrey and Nate’s dog Millie. He loved baseball, the beach, traveling, and let’s not forget…good Italian food and wine.
Jim simply loved his life and the people in it. The world will not be the same without his light, but he will live on in the laughter, love, and strength of his wife and daughters, as all the priceless lifetime memories carry his family forward.
A visitation will take place on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio. Burial and prayer service will immediately follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Jim’s memory, to Cincinnati Cancer Advisors.
