James White, age 51 of Mason, passed away on April 23, 2026. James was born on July 18, 1974, in Dayton, Ohio. He made a lasting impact on his community through both his athletic guidance and his generous spirit.

James served in the United States Navy, and beyond his military service, he was truly passionate about coaching and mentoring young athletes in baseball, football, basketball, and wrestling. His influence extended beyond the playing fields—he was deeply invested in helping his community, leaving a lasting legacy through the many lives he touched. James was a man of varied interests. He enjoyed playing poker, spending time at the beach, and all things sports. Above all, he valued time with his family and friends.

Family was central to James’s and his greatest source of pride. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jennifer White, and together they raised four boys: Tyler, Evan, Adam, and Myles, who were James’s proudest accomplishments. He also leaves behind his parents, Wendell White and Sharon (William) Mattingly, as well as his brothers, Bob (Kim) White and Bill Mattingly Jr.; his in-laws, James and Marilyn Nock; his beloved dog, Zoey; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. James was preceded in death by his sister, Tina Mattingly.
