John A. Stover

John Allen Stover, affectionately known as “Johnny,” passed away on June 28, 2025, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the age of 65. Born on July 30, 1959, in Cincinnati, John grew up to be a man with a gentle soul and unwavering loyalty to his family and friends.

Before his retirement, John dedicated over 25 years to General Electric and another decade to the Lakota School District. He took great pride in his career, which was reflective of his strong work ethic and his commitment to the communities he served.

John's love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies, particularly hunting and fishing. An avid sports fan, who had a special fondness for the Cincinnati Reds. He often found joy in these pursuits, sharing the experience with family and friends. His meticulous nature extended to his home life, where he kept his lawn impeccably manicured. Blessed with a green thumb, John cultivated a vibrant vegetable garden, which he generously shared with family and neighbors alike.

Family was at the heart of John's life. He was most proud of his loving relationships and treasured every moment spent as a husband, father, and 'papaw.' He is survived by his beloved wife, Geanette (nee Brown) Stover, and their two daughters, Shannon Brown and Alyssa Stover. John cherished his grandchildren, Lindsay (Sean) Lowler and Meagan (Alec) Marshall, and his great-grandchildren, Ella Marshall, Clara Marshall, and the forthcoming Baby Lowler.

John leaves behind a supportive family, including his siblings Carol (Ronald) Wolf, Robert Stover, Michael (Peggy) Stover, Ricky Stover, and Patricia (Gary) Monroe. He is also remembered by his sister-in-law, Lynne Stover, brother-in-law, Larry Bells, and numerous loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Minnie (nee Wilson) Stover, and his brothers Daniel, Jimmy, and Mark Stover, as well as his sister, Linda Bells, and sister-in-law, Brenda Stover.

A visitation will be held in his honor at Mueller Funeral Home in Mason, Ohio, on July 15, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life from 12:30-1:00 PM. Inurnment will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mason, Ohio. Friends and family are invited to join in sharing memories of a man who was deeply loved and respected.

John Allen Stover’s legacy lives on through those who loved him, and he will be profoundly missed by all whose lives he touched.
