US NAVY RETIRED VETERAN

John Stewart Dulaney, Jr., born on November 19, 1933, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, in Forest Park, Ohio. He was 92 years old.

John’s life was defined by devotion, hard work, and a profound love for his family. Throughout his years, he placed his family at the center of everything he did, cherishing his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with unwavering affection. The love he gave was a constant source of strength and comfort to those around him, especially to his beloved grandchildren, of whom he was immensely proud.

John was married to Cora Dulaney, his dear wife, who preceded him in death. Together, they built a life rooted in love and shared values. John’s steadfast nature and commitment to his family saw him through both joyful moments and the inevitable trials of life. He worked diligently over the years, ensuring that his loved ones were always cared for and supported.

He leaves behind a family who will forever remember his dedication and warmth. Surviving him are his daughters, Shelia (David) Stanfill and Cheryl (Terry) Purdin, and his son, Stewart Dulaney. John’s legacy is further carried on by his grandchildren—Nicholas Stanfill, Anthony Dulaney, Timmy Dulaney, Megan Sammons, Carson Dulaney, and Matthew Sammons. In addition, his great-grandsons, Randall Stanfill and Lucas Dulaney and Gabriel Moreno, Lilith Moreno, and Carmen Moreno, will hold his memory close as they grow. John is also survived by his sisters, Delores Richie and Maxine Gray, and brother, Calvin Dulaney.

John was a man who worked tirelessly to provide for his family, instilling values of perseverance and unity. He found joy in spending time with those he loved most, often reminiscing on family memories and celebrating milestones both big and small. His legacy is one of devotion—to his family, his work, and to his Country. John retired from the US NAVY after 20 years of dedicated service. 

A graveside service honoring John Stewart Dulaney, Jr. will be held on July 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, located at 171 Mason Montgomery Road, Mason, OH 45040. Family and friends are welcome to attend and pay their respects.

John’s memory will endure in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Those left behind will remember his steadfast love, his tireless spirit, and the deep sense of family he nurtured throughout his long and fruitful life.
