Judith E. Koenig

Judith Ellen (Jill) Koenig passed away on September 7, 2025, at the age of 86. Jill was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on August 28, 1939, to Robert Boyd and Joanna Badger Youmans. She was a wife and friend to her late husband Robert Lawrence Koenig for 49 years.

Jill graduated from Marietta College where she enjoyed theater and drama. She then worked for the Social Security Administration as a claims representative, a job she found challenging and rewarding. She liked books, flowers, learning something new, playing tennis, her cat Tigger, the Cincinnati Reds, helping others and sharing a laugh or two along the way. She was grateful for what she called her wonderful life.

Jill especially loved her family. She was an exceptional mother to her daughter Robin Rismiller (David) with whom she had a special friendship. She also was a kind and fun-loving grandmother to Charlie Areddy, Betsy Areddy, Emma Rismiller and CJ Rismiller, who fondly called her “Mrs.” She listened well and rooted for the people around her. She also offered perspective, help, and humor and will be greatly missed.

Jill was preceded in death by her brother Jeffrey Badger Youmans, her brother-in-law Elmer Koenig Jr. and her sister-in-law Mary Lou Apple. She is survived by her sister-in-law Marye Youmans and many nieces and nephews.
