Kab Chen, a beloved matriarch and devoted caregiver, passed away on June 1, 2025, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the age of 66. Born on July 28, 1958, in Cambodia, Kab exhibited an unwavering commitment to her family and home throughout her life.
In 1979, Kab married her husband, Sophal Chim, with whom she shared a life filled with love and dedication. As a mother to her six children—Phoeun Chim, Samedi Chim, Dany Chim, Puthyda Chim, Pechbopha Chim, and Povsethya Chim—she cherished every moment spent nurturing them and was particularly fond of caring for her ten grandchildren. Kab’s joy in family life was evident; she found her greatest happiness in seeing her loved ones thrive.
In 2015, Kab made the significant decision to immigrate to the United States to be closer to family, though her heart always remained rooted in her homeland of Cambodia. She looked forward to returning one day, carrying with her a fondness for her cultural heritage.
Kab's personality shone brightly, characterized by her joyful spirit and readiness to greet the world with a smile. She enjoyed meeting new people and fostered connections with those around her, leaving a lasting impact on her community.
A visitation will be held in her honor on June 6, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mueller Hicks Funeral Home & Crematory, 6780 Roosevelt Avenue, Middletown, Ohio 45005. Friends and family are invited to gather together to remember and celebrate the life of this remarkable woman.
