Beloved Mother, Grammy and Great Grammy
Lorraine S. Routenberg (nee Seaver), 94, of Mason Ohio went to be with Jesus on Friday September 1, 2023. Lorraine was born June 9, 1929, in Medford Massachusetts.
Lorraine is the beloved wife of the late Leonard B. Routenberg for 62 years. She is the Devoted mother of Karen (Paul) Reed-Smith, Kris (Wendell) Odom, Eric Routenberg, Kathy (Frank) Maher and Rodger Reed. She is the loving Grammy of Matthew (Jordan) Reed, Kevin (Carol) Maher, Katie (Grant) Yeilding, Lauren (Matthew) Larramore, Megan Maher and Hannah Odom. She is the sweet Great Grammy to Stella, Wade, Lilly, Lincoln, Billy and Brooks. Dear Sister of the late Louise Reilly of Arlington Massachusetts and is survived by her sister-in-law, Louise Routenberg and many nieces and nephews in the Boston area.
Loving and caring for her family best describes Lorraine’s adult life. She was devoted to them wholeheartedly and remained so to the very end. Lorraine grew up in Medford Massachusetts, attended Regis College and received her Masters in Social Work from Boston University. She moved to New York City and worked in hospitals there as a Medical Social Worker until her marriage to Leonard in 1955. She then moved to Cincinnati and worked until she had the first of her four children in 1956. Her life was filled with taking care of her family, volunteering at her church; St. Susanna, quilting, antiquing, garage sales, Bible Study, tea drinking, over 60+ trips to Cape Cod and being a huge part of her grandchildren’s lives.
Some of her most cherished memories are of family vacations to Cape Cod where she and Lenny continued to vacation up until one year before his death.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be on Saturday September 16, 2023 at the Crossroads Mason Chapel, 990 Reading Road, Mason, Ohio 45040. Gathering 9:30, Service 10:00, reception for Family and Friends immediately following at Crossroads Mason.
