Margaret Hopkinson Griswold

Margaret Hopkinson Griswold passed away on December 12, 2025, in Mason, Ohio, at the age of 92. Born on February 14, 1933, in Rochester, New York, Margaret lived a life filled with love, laughter, and lasting contributions to those around her.

Margaret was a dedicated wife to her husband, Paul Griswold, with whom she spent 67 wonderful years. Together, they cultivated a family that became the cornerstone of her life. Margaret is survived by her children, Laura Dowell (Bill) and Wendy Harpring (Randy), who fondly remember her spirit and unwavering support. She enjoyed being a grandmother to her grandchildren, Andrew Harpring (Cait), Alex Harpring (Jenn), and Rob Harpring (Danielle), and took so much joy in her great-grandchildren—Noah, Liam, Emmalyn, Tucker, and Oliver.

Margaret is also survived by her sister, Ruth Hopkinson, with whom she shared many fond memories. Her parents, Frederick J. and Margaret (nee Lamb) Hopkinson, predeceased her.

Educated with a Bachelor’s Degree, Margaret was a lifelong learner whose interests enriched her life and the lives of those around her. She had a passion for playing golf, immersing herself in puzzles, and traveling to far-off places. Her love of reading opened new worlds, and her appreciation for gourmet dinners created treasured moments with family and friends.

Margaret's visitation will be held on December 22, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Mueller Funeral Home, located at 6791 Tylersville Rd, Mason, Ohio, 45040. The memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM at the same location, where her family and friends will gather to celebrate her remarkable life and the indelible mark she has left on all who knew her.

Memorial donations may be directed to Heartland Hospice or to Animal Friends Humane Society.

Margaret Hopkinson Griswold will be remembered as a strong, warm, and intelligent woman, whose spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those she loved.
