Mark R. Albert passed away on April 23, 2026. Born December 27, 1955, in Youngstown, Ohio, he grew up alongside his fraternal twin brother, Matthew. Mark shared 48 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Cindy (née Schlabaugh), his high school sweetheart. Together, they built a life centered on love, loyalty, and an unbreakable partnership that was felt by all who knew them.

Mark was a devoted father to three sons: Brian (Anne) of Mason, Ohio; Scott (Bethany) of Boone, North Carolina; and Kevin (Callie) of Earlysville, Virginia. He was an incredibly proud and loving grandfather to Matthew, Nellie, Nora, Cy, Wade, Cole, and Grady. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and nothing brought him more joy than being “Papa.” He is also survived by his sister, Carolyn of Cleveland, Ohio; sisters-in-law Karen Kotarski (Paul), Deb Bennett (Gary), and Colleen Rose (Alan); along with many nieces and nephews. Mark was preceded in death by his brother Matthew and his parents, James and Wilma (née Schultz).

Mark grew up in Austintown, Ohio, and graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in 1974. He went on to earn a degree in electrical engineering from Youngstown State University in 1987, completing his studies while working full-time and attending classes in the evenings. His strong work ethic and determination defined a successful career as a project manager in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, where he led large-scale expansions and earned deep respect from colleagues and friends alike.

More than anything, Mark will be remembered for how he made people feel. He brought humor, warmth, and a playful spirit into every room, and he had a way of making others feel comfortable, valued, and cared for. He had a generous heart and was always willing to go above and beyond to lend a helping hand—whether it meant tackling a project, offering guidance, or simply being there when it mattered most. He found true joy in working with his hands, especially on home and car projects, often side by side with his sons. He also loved being on the water and cherished the many memories made boating with his family.

Following years of hard work, Mark and Cindy relocated to North Carolina, where he accepted a promotion and continued his career. During this time, they embraced a new chapter filled with travel, time with family, and many cherished trips to Emerald Isle, a place they especially loved.
