Mark A. White, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a lifelong educator, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, at the age of 90. Born in Mansfield, Ohio on January 29, 1935, Mark spent the majority of his working life dedicated to the field of education, educating elementary children, high school teens, incarcerated individuals, and adults.

Mark is survived by his wife of 65+ years, Patricia White (Wolford); his sons, David (Barbara) White and Matthew (James Billingsley) White; his grandchildren, Lynn (Charles) Glenn, Sarah (Pete Cave) Lansing, and John (Sarah) Householder; his great grandchildren, Jacob, Charles, and Isabella Glenn, Austin Lansing, and Oliver Cave, brother-in-law Donald (Linda) Wolford, sister-in-law Janice Wolford, nephew Steven (Crystal) Wolford and their children, nephew Brad Wolford, niece Jodi Wolford, and nephew Kevin Wolford and his spouse and children.

Mark served as a dedicated educator for over 35 years, teaching for Ontario Local Schools, Crestview Local Schools, Ohio Central School System under the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, and Lancaster City Schools over the course of his career. Throughout his career, Mark served in a variety of positions, from classroom teacher to administrator and served student populations from elementary children through adults.

To say that Mark was well-prepared for his role as an educator would be an understatement: he earned two Bachelor’s Degrees, one from Wittenberg University and one from the University of Northern Colorado, and two Master’s Degrees, both from Ashland University. This lifelong dedication to learning served Mark well throughout his career and prepared him for both the joys and the challenges that being an educator brings.

Mark enjoyed his years in retirement making memories with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition, he never lost his love of learning and always tried his best to keep up with technology. He also took up the hobby of being an amateur radio operator as a member of the Lancaster and Fairfield County Amateur Radio Club.
