Melvin McCray was born January 11, 1949, in Ohio to Vernette Sr. and Hazel. He was 74 years old, the firth child born and a younger brother to his twin, Marvin. He had three brothers and three sisters. He spent his early childhood in Ohio. Where he went to school and was raised in his home state Ohio. He met a beautiful young woman and from this union he was blessed with two beautiful daughter Yolanda and Uma.
From there in 1992 he decided to leave his home state Ohio and headed for Houston, Texas, where he would reside and drive for the Yellow Cab Service as a taxi driver, but still was searching for more. To where he found his religion Islam and became a Muslim and took on the name Nasiruddin Ahmad. He would soon after that find his wife Kathy. He would reside there with Kathy and her two daughters Chandra and Tamecka and from their union came his and her only son Ja’leel Altmad. He would go on to start a landscaping service with Kathy while they moved and resided in 3rdward, Texas in Houston. Him and Kathy go on from there and become managers at Southmore complex residential complex and raised their son Ja’leel. They soon moved to retire on the Northside of Houston where he spent his years until the passing of his wife Kathy and returned home to Ohio with his two daughters Yalanda and Una until his passing, August 5, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his wide Kathy, his father Vernette Sr. and mother Hazel, his twin brother Marvin and brother Vernette Jr., also two sisters Diane and Jeanete.
He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories; his daughters Yolanda, Chandra, Una and Tamecka, his son Ja’leel Altmad, his oldest brother Danny and his youngest sister Francine. A host of grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, cousins and loved ones.
