Michael F. Jacobs, age 68, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
Born on April 10, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, Mike was raised in the nearby community of Elk Grove Village and graduated from Elk Grove Village High School. He went on to study Electrical Engineering at Triton College, beginning a lifelong passion for technology and innovation. He began his remarkable 35+-year career at Procter & Gamble, starting at the Chicago plant, where his father also worked. Mike was a legacy P&G employee, following in the steps of his father, Frank Jacobs, and leading the way for his brothers, Mark and Tim.
In 1990, Mike relocated to Mason, Ohio, where he continued his P&G career after the closing of the Chicago plant. He specialized in Warehousing & Shipping, establishing a reputation for his technical skills and business understanding. Before retirement, he served as an IT Application Manager for cutting-edge technologies, known for his sharp intellect, dedication, and leadership.
Mike was a man of many interests and talents. He was an avid amateur radio operator and had a deep passion for digital photography, computer gaming, and astronomy. He found great joy in nature—especially hiking, traveling, and taking long walks with his beloved dogs. Animals held a special place in his heart, particularly his loyal German Shepherd, Bailey, and his cherished Green-Winged Macaw, Gizmo. He even had his own YouTube channel streaming the bird feeders in his yard.
He will be remembered lovingly by his significant other of many years, Bonnie Seaton; his son, Michael F. Jacobs, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Sachiyo; and his granddaughters, Miya and Yui. He is also survived by his siblings, Mark Jacobs, Timothy (Debra) Jacobs, and Cheryl (Charles Hewitt) Jacobs; his niece, Sondra Drummond; and his nephew, Alex Hewitt.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Josephine Jacobs (née Rood).
His warmth, humor, curiosity, and zest for life touched all who knew him. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
At this time, there will not be any services. To commemorate and celebrate his life, the family suggests contributing, in Mike’s memory, to the American Lung Association or Humane Association of Warren County. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Mueller Funeral Home, Mason.
