Michelle C. "Mickie" Nazarovech, a beloved life-long educator and cherished matriarch, passed away on July 1, 2025, at the Hospice of Cincinnati in Blue Ash, Ohio.
Born on January 11, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Mickie left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family, friends, and countless students who were privileged to know her.A high school graduate of St. Ursula Academy, Mickie's thirst for knowledge led her to achieve her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati.
With a sweet, kind, and caring disposition, she dedicated her life to nurturing young minds. Mickie's teaching career was particularly significant at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic School, where she inspired many children through her passion and affection. Even after embarking on the next chapter of her life, she continued to influence education by helping to open a charter school in Columbus. A true champion of learning, Mickie hosted several student exchange programs that enriched the lives of many, showcasing her dedication to fostering understanding and connection among diverse cultures.Mickie’s love for teaching and children did not end in the classroom. She devoted her summers to running programs for kids and tutoring, ensuring that learning continued even when school was out. This dedication to her students was matched only by her love for her family, particularly her grandchildren, Hayden and Sophia Mays, and Elena Alexander.
Her joy was evident in every laughter-filled family gathering, and she found immense pride in watching her grandchildren grow.Faith was an integral part of Mickie’s life; she cherished attending Mass with her daughter, Heather, and son-in-law, Max, at St. Margaret of York Catholic Church. It is here that she found comfort and solace, embracing the community and spirituality that nourished her soul.
Mickie was the daughter of the late Frederick and Hattie (nee Adams) Kahsar and the sister to Louise "Skippy" Binder. She leaves behind her loving family, including her daughter, Heather (Max) Mays; her son, Nicholas (Kristen) Alexander; her adored grandchildren; and her brother, Fred (Cindi) Kahsar. Mickie is also lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, who will carry on her legacy of compassion and kindness.
As we reflect on the life of Michelle "Mickie" Nazarovech, we remember a gentle soul whose unwavering dedication to nurturing others made the world a better place. She departed this life very peacefully, leaving behind memories filled with warmth and love that will forever resonate in the hearts of those she cherished.
The family will receive family members and close friends for a graveside service on Monday, July 7, 2025 at 12:00 pm, at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mason, OH. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Mueller Funeral Home, Mason.
