Morton Steele

Morton Steele, age 94 of Mason, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

Mort was born on June 23, 1931, in Leona, Wisconsin, to Leonard and Amy (Grandine) Steele. His early years in Wisconsin helped shape a lifelong curiosity and passion for engineering that would define both his career and his approach to life.

Mort was a devoted husband to his wife of 54 years, Margaret, and a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He built a distinguished career as an electrical engineer, specializing in advancements in glassmaking technology. He was also an Army veteran who served during the Korean War.

Outside of his professional life, Mort found great joy in working with his hands. He was an avid woodworker who took pride in crafting and creating, and he enjoyed gardening, camping, and traveling. Together, he and Margaret explored many parts of the world, visiting numerous countries throughout Europe and traveling across the United States.

Mort is survived by his children, Amy (Wolf), Michael, Carmie (Maloney), and Jeff; his 12 grandchildren; his 8 great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Amy Steele; his beloved wife, Margaret; and his son, Daniel.

Visitation will be held at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio, on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated the following day, Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Susanna Catholic Church, 616 Reading Road, Mason, Ohio. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
