Myron “Mike” Kobre, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026, in Mason, Ohio. He was born on December 2, 1935, in the Bronx, New York, and lived a life marked by enduring love, unwavering strength, and deep devotion to his family.
Mike’s journey began in the vibrant neighborhoods of the Bronx, where his roots were established and his character shaped. Throughout his years, he exemplified integrity, generosity, and steadfast commitment to those he loved. Mike spent many years as a cab driver in New York City. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, telling jokes and smoking a pipe giving off the aromatic fragrance. His legacy is reflected most profoundly in the many lives he touched, not only within his own family but among all who had the privilege to know him.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Helene (nee Scher) Kobre, whose partnership stood as a testament to lasting devotion. Mike’s life was enriched by his son, Richard Kobre, whose presence and achievements filled him with pride and joy.
As a grandfather, Mike was a source of humor, wisdom, and unwavering support. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Sarah (Shawn) Osborne, Jennifer Rattiner, Zachary (Marissa) Rattiner, Emily Dill, Jared Kobre and great grandfather of Avery & Charlotte Osborne, and Kingsmen Smith. Each of them brought great joy and fulfillment to his life, and he leaves behind treasured memories and lasting lessons that will continue to guide and inspire them.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Rae Kobre, brother, Herbert Kobre and sister, Sylvia Kobre whose memory remained close to his heart.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Mike’s life at a graveside service, which will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, 171 Mason Montgomery Road, Mason, OH 45040.
Throughout his ninety years, Myron “Mike” Kobre provided a steadfast example of kindness, love, and integrity. His enduring spirit, gentle guidance, and deep affection for those around him will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
