It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Patricia L. Gallagher, née Gray, on April 26, 2026, at the age of 92. In her final days, Pat was surrounded by the love of her family. She leaves behind a legacy defined by her commitment to her loved ones, her assistance to those less fortunate, and her steadfast support for her community.

Patricia was born in Wichita, Kansas, on August 9, 1933, to Leo and Marguerite (née Dale) Gray. She earned her bachelor's degree in commercial art from Marymount University, a testament to her pursuit of knowledge and personal growth during a time when educational opportunities for women were still evolving. Her academic achievements were a source of pride for her and an inspiration to those around her.

In 1960, Patricia met John Gallagher, a navigator for the U.S. Air Force, and they were married in 1962. A loving, dedicated, and capable military spouse, she took the lead in managing the household, spearheading moves across more than five states, and raising their three beloved children—Roberta, Theresa, and Patrick Gallagher—during John’s frequent deployments throughout the Vietnam War and subsequent military missions. These early years forged an unbreakable bond between Patricia and her children. Their connection and love for their mother formed the cornerstone of her life, bringing her immense joy and fulfillment.

Patricia's career was distinguished by her long-standing role as a secretary at the Health Department, where she devoted over two decades to supporting public health initiatives with professionalism and care. Her commitment to her work reflected her deep sense of responsibility and her desire to contribute meaningfully to society.

Unexpectedly widowed by John’s passing in 2004, Patricia moved to Liberty Township, Ohio, to be closer to her brother, Leo Gray, her sister-in-law, Verlaine Gray, and their family. Ohio soon became the home of her son, Patrick, and the center of gravity for her daughters—who lived on the West and East Coasts—and their families. Patricia loved spending time with her five cherished grandchildren: Brendan With, Marguerite With, Christopher With, Jackson Gallagher, and Dylan Gallagher. Her artistic talent was evident in everything she touched, culminating in the creation of an exquisitely decorated, comfortable, and welcoming home where her family frequently gathered and dear memories were made.

An avid animal lover, Patricia was always surrounded by her devoted toy poodles. Her dog, Teddy Bear, watched over her in her later years and ensured she never missed a ringing doorbell, a phone call, or the end of a laundry cycle. Music, art, and flowers provided additional sources of genuine joy for Patricia. Patricia lived a life marked by warmth, kindness, and unwavering pride and devotion to her family

Friends and family are invited to honor Patricia’s life during a visitation on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, located at 5720 Hamilton Mason Road, Liberty Township, Ohio 45011.
