Peyton Chase McKenzie , 25 of Norwood, passed away unexpectedly while camping with friends, he was a lover of the woods and nature what a way to go. He passed on Sunday, November 21, 2021. Born to James Scott McKenzie and Karen (nee Burcham) McKenzie on April 15, 1996, in Fairfax, Virginia.
Peyton was a 2015 graduate of Mason High School where he played Lacrosse and a very active Boy Scout member of Troop 617. He went on to honorably serve his country for the next 4 years in the United States Army, where he earned his associates degree. Peyton was currently attending Northern Kentucky University obtaining his bachelor’s degree in Computer Programming.
He would best be described as outgoing, intelligent, sarcastic, kind, caring and the type of friend everyone wished for. He was dependable, tender hearted and loving. Peyton had a soft spot for animals and nature.
Peyton was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed hiking and camping with his friends. Spending time with nature, seeing all the animals and a good friend by his side is what made weekends in the woods special for Peyton.
Preceded in death by his two grandfathers, James D McKenzie and John C. Burcham and his two uncles, John C “Chad” Burcham and Craig Herter.
Peyton is survived by his parents, Scott (Maryanne) McKenzie and Karen B. (Scott C. Grevey) McKenzie, six siblings, Carson R. (fiancé Brady Jolly) McKenzie, Jackson Charpentier, Jayden McKenzie, Kristen (Kyle) Anderson, Morgan (Andrew) Dick and Stephanie Grevey, two grandmothers, Ellen (Roy “DJ”) Kline and Louise Burcham, girlfriend, Serena Houck and many friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 26 th from 4:00-5:00pm with a funeral service at 5:00pm all at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Peyton’s name to SPCA of Cincinnati or Boy Scouts of America.
