Phyllis J. Gorman, a dedicated lifelong teacher and devout Christian, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, at the age of 89. Phyllis was born on September 8, 1936, in Washington Court House, Ohio to Wilby McCoy and Mildred Scott. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and a lifetime of learning.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Kent (Linda) Gorman: sister, Carolyn; brother, Edie (Jean); lifelong family friends, Linda, Mandy and Graeme Dorn; her loving in-laws; and numerous other relatives and friends. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 53 years, Roger Gorman; and her son, Curt Gorman.
A Celebration of Life will be announced in the coming weeks. In leu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Shriners Children's.
