Ray Daniel Wedig passed away on May 15, 2025. Ray was born in Cincinnati, OH and lived in Madisonville until he graduated high school and joined the United States Air Force. Ray was a proud veteran, having served 32 years active duty in the USAF.

While serving as a young security policeman at Travis Air Force Base, he met the love of his life, Jennie Shaaron "Roni" Yohanna, also a veteran of the USAF, and just a few months after meeting one another, Ray and Roni wed, ultimately celebrating 64 years of marriage before Roni died unexpectedly in September 2023.

Ray and Roni embarked on a multiple decades long adventure with Ray's military service career. His service took him to four continents and most of the states within the USA. Ray retired as a Chief Master Sergeant in 1989 and continued to work in the defense contractor security field at both GE Aircraft Engines and Wright Patterson AFB for an additional 12 years before ultimately retiring from the workforce. He spent 23 glorious post-retirement years with his wife, spending time with his family and traveling to all of their favorite places within the USA. Ray and Roni supported veterans' organizations and Ray was a member in a security police association until his death. His earlier retirement years included travel to many military security conferences and conventions. Ray graduated with two bachelor of arts degrees, as well as degrees from the USAF Police Academy (Lackland AFB, TX) and the Senior NCO Academy (Maxwell AFB, AL). Ray was a lifelong member of the Masons in Cincinnati, following in the footsteps of masonic service like his father and older brother before him.

Ray is survived by four children and their spouses, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Services include interment at a location in South Dakota and Rose Hill Cemetery in Mason, OH. Memorials can be made to the Warren County Humane Association and Animal Shelter (https://www.homelesspets.org/) or to the Loveland Food Pantry (https://lifefoodpantry.org/).
