Raymond A. Miranda, 70, passed away peacefully at home in West Chester, Ohio, on October 24, 2023. He was the first son born on September 11, 1953 to Dominic and Helen Miranda in Brooklyn, New York. Ray was married to his wife, Debbie Miranda, for 8 years, and was the proud father of Shannon, Natalie (Andrew), and stepfather of Heather (Troy). He found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren, Connor and Weston. A lover of animals, Ray cherished his loyal canine companion, Jack, and his horses, Babe, Baby and Dakota. He is survived by his wife, daughters, brothers, Joey and Marc, sister, Donna Marie, loving relatives, as well as countless friends.
Ray was a true adventurer and spent many of his years traveling abroad to Belize, Paris, Amsterdam, Mexico, and domestically to some of his favorite cities such as Savannah, Georgia and Cape May, New Jersey, where his mother and father lived for a significant portion of his adult life. His travels included time spent scuba-diving, skiing, attending concerts and tasting the freshest local foods he could discover (and of course enjoying a glass of fine wine). At every family gathering or dinner, Ray was the life of the party, telling his favorite travel adventure stories and sharing his perspective of the world with his family and friends. His daughters recall Ray’s love of food and talent as a cook, where he would often recreate his favorite meals at home.
For over 40 years, Ray was a dedicated employee at United Performance Metals (formerly Ferguson Metals) before his well-deserved retirement in 2019. Ray always went above and beyond in all that he did and accomplished many milestones in his career.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 30th at 1:00pm at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 10209 Plainfield Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45241.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested in Ray’s memory to Tails of Hope Animal Rescue of Ohio at https://www.tailsofhopeohio.org/donate.
Ray also wishes that his family and friends, both near and far, live every moment of their lives to the fullest, spend time outdoors, savor the cuisines of the world, and travel at any opportunity that presents itself. His family knows Ray is watching over all of us, listening to classic rock, drinking his favorite bourbon, and smoking a cigar to celebrate a life well-lived.
