Richard Nichols

Richard Edward “Nick” Nichols died Saturday May 3, 2025, in his Liberty Township home. Nick, an Elder boy, class of ‘49, lived the life of legend as a kid raised on the West Side. Nick later earned an engineering degree from University of Cincinnati and worked for Procter & Gamble as an engineer until retiring in 1991. 

Nick and his late wife Carol Virginia Nichols (née Hicks) raised 6 kids together over a 64-year marriage. Nick and Carol travelled the world and saw their legacy grow to 16 grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. Nick is survived by all 6 children, their spouses, children, and grandchildren. Sandra (spouse David and kids Siobhan, Winter and Eoan), Richard Jr (spouse Mary and kids Richard III, Kiersen (John) and Nathan and grandchildren Richard IV, Wailea, Saiorse, Seamus and Rhiannon), Timothy (spouse Kim and children Ryan (Kristen) and Blair (Christian), grandchildren Olivia, Caden and Avery), Mark (spouse Meredith and kids Monica and Elena), Heather (spouse Gil and children Chelsea (Ben), Spencer (Kimi), Addison (Morgan), and Erin) and Michael (spouse Poppy and kids Oliver and Molly). 

The extended family resides all over the US and Nick was able to continue his travels to visit family and maintain lifelong friendships he and his wife made over the years. Nick loved golf and Reds baseball. He was able to attend Opening Day this season with his two daughters. Nick’s legacy is the large, loving family and the many lives of friends he enjoyed over his long life. 

A memorial mass will be held on Friday, May 9th at 11:00AM at St Maximilian Kolbe Parish,5720 Hamilton Mason Rd, Liberty Township, OH 45011. Inurnment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery at a later date.
