Robert “Bob” Rigdon, beloved husband, father, grandfather (“G-pa”), brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on June 14, 2026. Born on May 21, 1953, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Bob’s 73 years were marked by a deep devotion to family, a love of nature, and a vibrant enthusiasm for life’s simple pleasures.
Bob’s deepest commitment was to his family. He and his wife Marylis were inseparable. They loved spending time with their children and grandchildren, traveling, and visiting wineries and breweries. When his children were growing up, Bob spent much of his free time playing baseball and softball with them, often stepping up to coach their teams (usually to victory). Bob’s love for his grandchildren, who affectionately referred to him as “G-Pa,” was immeasurable. He and “G-Ma” spent countless hours traveling to Columbus to support their grandchildren competing in sporting events.
Bob was a man of many passions. He loved competition, from being a track star in high school, to beer league softball, to his Friday night bowling league. He cherished golfing with his buddies, the mental challenge of word games and jigsaw puzzles, and the serenity of the natural world.
Bob is survived by his wife, Marylis Rigdon; his daughter, Renée (Sara) Rigdon; and his son, Steve (Brooke) Rigdon. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Amelia, Logan, and Myron Miles, all of whom brought him immense pride and happiness. He is also survived by his siblings, Cathy Doughman and Billy (Lisa) Rigdon; siblings-in-law Juliette Apkarian and Martin Stapanian; and numerous other relatives and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Bernie McDonough, Helen Simone, and Bill Rigdon.
