Sheryl S. Trundy, a beloved mother, doting grandmother, committed Christ follower, and active member of her community, passed away on January 4, 2026, in Blue Ash, Ohio, at the age of 65. Born on July 10, 1960, in Jacksonville, Florida, Sheryl spent her life nurturing and caring for others through volunteer and community service work and as a dedicated pediatric nurse- a career which she saw as both a passion and a calling.

Sheryl's career as a pediatric nurse was marked by her 35 years of heartfelt commitment to the well-being of her young patients at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. Her work was not just a profession; it was a vital part of her identity- reflecting her dedication and compassion. Alongside her nursing career, she was a gifted pianist, organist, and artist, whose creativity and excellence shone through her original compositions, beautiful handmade cards, personalized gifts, and beautiful embroidery. As a seamstress, she crafted her own clothing and created unique creations and alterations for others, often showcasing her artistic flair.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Sheryl cherished her role as a parent and grandparent. She especially enjoyed spoiling her three grandchildren with crafting, special trips, and quality time. She is survived by her sister, Lynda Hart-Reed (David), two daughters, Suzanne (Karl) Hudson and Ashley (Keith) Collins, and her beloved grandchildren, Kailyn Hudson and Lily and William Collins. She also leaves behind special nieces and nephews, along with many loving family members and friends who will remember her for her quiet kindness, listening ear, and unwavering faith.

Sheryl found strength and support through her faith. Along with her local membership at Grace Baptist Church where she was a devoted participant, she remained connected with multiple congregations across several states where she cultivated many long lasting friendships. She often asked others how she could pray for or care for them. She looked to serve others and never sought credit or recognition. She was a fierce prayer warrior, keeping copious notebooks of reminders and names to pray over daily. Her strong faith in God was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her through both joyous and many challenging times. Throughout multiple battles with illness, she continued to inspire those around her with her selfless service and encouragement to others.

In addition to her nursing career, Sheryl volunteered her time with multiple organizations and Bible study groups - most recently as a group leader for a local chapter of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) and as the lead volunteer for Serve City in Hamilton, further demonstrating her commitment to service and loving others.

Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Howard L. Thompson and Lily Madeline (Dedge) Thompson, as well as her siblings, Juanita McKelvey, and Howard "Howie" Thompson, Jr. Their spirits will join her in loving memory.
