With peace, Timothy Heenan of West Chester, Ohio, departed this life on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. Born the youngest of five children to Roderick and Ellen (née McDonnell) Heenan on July 20, 1951, in Cincinnati.
On September 13, 1975, Tim married Anna Heenan (née Kaegi). Together, they lovingly raised three children-Jill (Andy) Blackburn, Jeff, and Patrick (Linda Meier) Heenan, instilling in them the values of lifelong learning, hard work, humor, love of the outdoors and the importance of family.
Tim was blessed with five grandchildren: Charleston Maria (15), Drew Elise (13), Daphne Valentine (8), John York (5), and James Meier (3). Known fondly as "Grandpa," Tim delighted in seeing them on visits to Chicago, Nashville, and Montana, leaving each grandchild with cherished memories.
Tim's education began at St. John's of Deer Park and progressed through Moeller High School, Xavier University and Ohio Northern. He enjoyed a career as a pharmacist and on-call medical specialist to family and friends.
Tim was a loving husband and father with a passion for sharing the things that brought him joy, especially with anyone who needed or wanted a friend. Whether he was teaching a child to fish or guiding someone through the complexities of fly fishing, Tim gave his time generously and with complete sincerity.
To Tim, his family and friends were heroes, and he was unshakable in that conviction.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roderick and Ellen Heenan; his in-laws, Alfred and Maria Kaegi; his brothers, Jack, Ed, and Denny; his sister-in-law, Sue; and brothers-in-law, Hal Tompkins, Alfred, and Ed Kaegi. He is survived by his beloved wife, Anna; his sister, Mary Ellen Tompkins; his children and grandchildren; and a large, loving extended family who will miss him deeply.
A memorial Mass will be held at St. Stephen on August 15 at 2PM. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Tim's life.
A passionate supporter of Catholic education, Tim's spirit lives on through acts of generosity. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in his memory to Holy Spirit School in Pocatello, Idaho or Our Lady of Mount Carmel Academy (OLMCA) in Chicago, IL, the grade schools dear to his heart and his grandchildren's lives.
