William Joseph Hayes

William “Bill” Joseph Hayes of Liberty Township, Ohio passed away December 12, 2025 with the Love of his family & friends; and most importantly with the Love of his Life Noreen for more than 51 years at his side.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio to William & Janet Hayes, he first attended Our Lady of Angels Elementary in Cleveland then St. Bernadette Elementary in Westlake, Ohio followed by St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio graduating in 1966.
Bill attended Cleveland State University briefly and then transferred to Findlay College. He graduated from Findlay with a degree in Psychology in 1973.
Prior to his graduation, Bill was drafted into the U.S. Army. Bill was stationed in Texas for the majority of his military career, proudly serving his country as both a Medic and an MP.
Bill spent the first 7 years of his professional career at New Life Health Spa in Troy, Ohio first working as an instructor, then managing the Spa. He trained and competed in both Powerlifting & Body Building. This also started a life-long passion for studying Nutrition and Health.
For the next 30 years Bill devoted his significant talents to Home Remodeling, spending the majority of these years as Principal of Hayes Renovations serving the Dayton and Greater Cincinnati, Ohio regions. At age 60 he transitioned to become a very successful Realtor in Southwest Ohio.
Bill relished telling stories & jokes to entertain all within earshot. He loved his family & friends and working hard. He treasured being “Uncle Bill” to his many nephews, nieces, and their children plus pitching in whenever a family member or friend needed help.
Bill was preceded in passing by his parents, as well as his sister Elizabeth Aylward (Dan) and his brother Mark Hayes (Janice). He is survived by his devoted wife, Noreen; his sister Katherine Thompson (Bruce), his brother Daniel Hayes (Catherine); his brother Kenneth Hayes (Deborah). Bill also leaves behind a large contingent of in-laws, nephews, nieces and their children; plus many friends who felt more like family.
Bill was loving and loyal, known for his generosity, kindness, and ever-willing spirit. He lived a life defined by helping others, protecting those he loved and spreading joy through genuine moments. His legacy lives on not only in his family, but also in the stories he shared, the smiles and work ethics he inspired and the love he poured into those lucky enough to know him.
Bill will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
